HL Deb 09 July 1971 vol 321 cc1207-8

11.12 a.m.

THE LORD CHANCELLOR (LORD HA ILSI IAM On ST. MARYLEBONE)

My Lords, in rising to propose, pursuant to Standing Order No. 43(2), that the House do discharge the Order of Recommitment, I ought to inform the House that this is a pure Consolidation Bill and, as such, falls within the first category of Bills referred to the Joint Committee. In their Report the Committee state that the Bill represents the existing law and that there is no point to which the attention of Parliament should be drawn. I understand that no Amendments have been put down to this Bill, and that no noble Lord has indicated a wish to move a Manuscript Amendment or to speak in Committee on recommitment. Unless, therefore, any noble Lord objects, I beg to move that the Order of Recommitment be discharged.

Moved, That the Order of Recommitment be discharged.—(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
