HL Deb 07 July 1971 vol 321 c976
THE CHAIRMAN OF COMMITTEES (THE EARL OF LISTOWEL)

My Lords, I beg to move that this Bill be now read a second time.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 2a.—(The Earl of Listowel.)

LORD DAVIES OF LEEK

My Lords, I do not want to detain the House unduly, but when it comes to river authorities (some of us are specially concerned with this subject) I would draw the attention of noble Lords—this is a bit of publicity—to the river authorities' magnificent exhibition upstairs, outside Committee Room 10. I have had contentions with river authorities who want to build reservoirs and ponds in the Manifold Valley and Dovedale, but I think we should all see the marvellous work that they are doing. I am sure many of your Lordships will find it worth while.

On Question, Bill read 2a, and committed to the Committee on Unopposed Bills.
