HL Deb 20 May 1970 vol 310 c1141
LORD BESWICK

My Lords, I indicated earlier that I would be making a further Statement about business on Thursday of next week. It has now been agreed, through the usual channels, that there will be no formal debate on economic affairs on the Thursday, but of course on the Second Reading of the Finance Bill it will be open to any noble Lord to make any point he or she would wish to make. I hope that this will be generally agreeable to the House.

VISCOUNT GOSCHEN

My Lords, I should like to thank the Captain of the Gentlemen at Arms for making that Statement. It is quite agreeable to this side of the House, and it is perfectly understood that any noble Lord who wishes to make a speech on that day can still do so.
