HL Deb 19 May 1970 vol 310 cc964-5
LORD SHACKLETON

My Lords, I beg to move the third Motion standing in my name on the Order Paper. I should make an apology to the noble Earl, Lord Shannon, in that he is described on the Order Paper as "Lord Shannon", and this is contrary to our practice, even though his Earldom is Irish. I would also mention that this Motion will enable the noble Earl to serve as a Deputy Chairman for only two days. The Motion was tabled before the announcement of the Dissolution, and although some Lords may say that it is a slight nonsense it is, none the less, a harmless one.

Moved, That the Earl of Shannon be added to the panel of Lords appointed to act as Deputy Chairmen of Committees for this Session.—(Lord Shackleion.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
