HL Deb 19 May 1970 vol 310 cc1001-2

[No. 11]

Clause 13, page 12, line 4, leave out "not less than"

4.30 p.m.

THE LORD CHANCELLOR

My Lords, I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in Amendment No. 11. This is a drafting Amendment. As it stands, Clause 13(2) provides that where a person is served with an attachment of earnings order and the debtor is not in his employment or subsequently leaves his employment he must give notice of that fact to the court within not less than ten days from the date of service. The words "not less than" are quite unnecessary, and the Amendment provides for them to be deleted.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
