HL Deb 01 December 1970 vol 313 cc385-6
BARONESS BURTON OF COVENTRY

My Lords, I beg leave to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they are in a position to make an interim statement on the progress made concerning the future status of the Sports Council.]

LORD SANDFORD

My Lords, the noble Baroness, who is herself a member of the Sports Council, will know that my honourable friend the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State met the Council last week specially to hear their views on the future.

BARONESS BURTON OF COVENTRY

My Lords, I thank the noble Lord. I quite understand, but I expected the Minister to say that he was not yet ready to make any statement.
