HL Deb 08 April 1970 vol 309 c147
LORD BESWICK

My Lords, with leave, I should like to say something about the way in which we hope to take to-day's business. If the Committee stage of the Merchant Shipping Bill is not completed by about 7 o'clock this evening, I think it would be of convenience to the House generally, and to the principal participants in the debate individually, if we adjourned the Committee to take the Television Order. Once that was over we would then resume the Committee stage of the Merchant Shipping Bill. I hope that we shall be able to complete the Committee stage of the Bill to-night; but, if not, I suggest that it might be possible to complete it to-morrow, after the Second Reading of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Bill.
