§ THE PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY, MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT (LORD KENNET)My Lords, may I ask the House to turn its attention for a moment to the arrangements for to-morrow's Committee stage on the Housing Bill? It was agreed after consultation that we should take the clauses and schedules of this Bill in a certain order to-morrow. The Motion for an Instruction to the Committee to this effect should have been placed on the Order Paper last night for consideration to-day. Owing to a mishap, which I much regret, this did not happen, and the Motion will be tabled to-day for consideration to-morrow. The result is that unless the Marshalled List of Amendments is printed to-night in such an order that it anticipates that the Motion will be agreed to to-morrow, the Marshalled List will not coincide with the way in which it is intended to take the Bill. This matter has been discussed through the usual channels, and we are agreed that if this is acceptable to the House it will be for the convenience of all for to-morrow's Marshalled List to be printed in anticipation of to-morrow's Motion being agreed to.
