HL Deb 15 October 1968 vol 296 c1196

2.58 p.m.

LORD DRUMALBYN

My Lords, I beg leave to ask a Question of which I have given Private Notice and which, with your Lordships' permission, I would ask leave to substitute for the Unstarred Question standing in my name. The question is:

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether there is any progress to report in the negotiations on the pay claim in the engineering industry.

LORD BESWICK

My Lords, may I first thank the noble Lord opposite for his understanding about the Unstarred Question? I shall be replying to this Private Notice Question at a convenient moment after 3.30 p.m., when a similar Question is being answered in another place. After that my noble friend the Leader of the House will be making a Statement on Rhodesia.

It may be for the convenience of your Lordships if I say now that dinner will be available to-night from 7 to 8.30 p.m.
