§ 3.21 p.m.
§ THE CHAIRMAN OF COMMITTEES (THE EARL OF LISTOWEL)My Lords, in moving the next Motion which stands in my name on the Order Paper, I think I should say a few words to explain why I am asking your Lordships to agree to it. To permit this Bill to be deposited on November 27, as laid down in our Standing Orders, a representation had to be made to the Secretary of State for Scotland. Due to an oversight on the part of the Promoters' Agents, this representation was made two days late. In order to allow the Bill to be deposited in time, I am now asking the House to dispense with the provisions of Standing Order No. 193. I would add that a similar Motion was agreed to last week in another place. My Lords, I beg to move.
§ Moved, That Private Bill Standing Order No. 193 [Deposit of Bill under section 1(4) of the Private Legislation Procedure (Scotland) Act 1936] be considered in order to its being dispensed with to allow the Bill to be deposited on November 27.—(The Earl of Listowel.)
§ On Question, Motion agreed to.
