HL Deb 24 June 1968 vol 293 c1120
THE MINISTER OF STATE, BOARD OF TRADE (LORD BROWN)

My Lords, I beg to move that this Bill be now read a third time. I commend it to the House as a limited but useful measure which will extend our power, to take action on behalf of British industry against materially injurious dumping or subsidisation in ways which are in conformity with the International Anti-Dumping Code that was agreed in the Kennedy Round. The Anti-Dumping Code comes into operation on July 1. This House should be congratulated on the speed and efficiency with which it has dealt with this Bill.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 3a.— (Lord Brown.)

LORD DRUMALBYN

My Lords, I should like to join in commending this Bill to the House, which we are all grateful to the Government for having introduced.

THE DUKE OF ATHOLL

My Lords, may I say that I hope that one of the first things for which the Bill will be used will be in relation to the chipboard industry.

On Question, Bill read 3a, and passed.
