§ THE PAYMASTER GENERAL (LORD SHACKLETON)My Lords, with permission I will answer Lord Carrington's Private Notice Question in regard to the implications of the decision which your Lordships' House took yesterday afternoon on the Rhodesia Sanctions Order.
The existing Order remains in force until early July. The Government will bring a new Order before both Houses as soon as possible. My right honourable friend the Prime Minister hopes to make a further Statement in another place tomorrow, and with permission I shall probably be repeating this in your Lordships' House.
