HL Deb 11 June 1968 vol 293 c6
LORD BESWICK

My Lords, may I inform your Lordships that dinner will be served this evening between 7 and 8.30 p.m. There will be no adjournment.

EARL ST. ALDWYN

My Lords, can the noble Lord tell us what arrangements there are about dinners for the period between now and when we rise for the Summer Recess?

LORD BESWICK

My Lord;, as the noble Earl, Earl St. Aldwyn, will know, and as I think most of us fear, the House should be sitting to a reasonably late hour on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, certainly between next Monday and the time of rising for the Summer Recess. Usually, therefore, dinner will be served on those evenings, but I suggest that we might confirm the arrangements on the Weekly Whips for the period immediately after each week's Whip.

EARL ST. ALDWYN

My Lords, I think that would be an excellent arrangement, if we could have discussions through the usual channels and get it out so that people will know where they stand.
