§ [No. 4]
§ Clause 2, page 3, line 36, after "paragraph" insert "(including any byelaw so made by virtue of section 3(1) or 4(1) of this Act)"
§ LORD BESWICK
My Lords, I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in their Amendment No. 4. This is a drafting Amendment. The explanation given to me is that this Amendment makes it clear that the reference in the last part of subsection (5) to by-laws made by virtue of paragraph (h) of Section 2(1) included a reference 360 to by-laws so made by virtue of Sections 3(1) and 4(1) which incorporate paragraphs (a) to (i) of Section 2(1). Strangely enough, this is held to be a clarifying Amendment, and I offer it to your Lordships on that understanding. I beg to move.
§ Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment (No.4).—(Lord Beswick.)
§ THE EARL OF KINNOULL
My Lords, I was hoping to be able to congratulate the noble Lord on a clearer explanation than has been given before, but in fact he has only read the words used in another place.
§ On Question, Motion agreed to.
