§ THE LORD CHANCELLOR (LORD GARDINER)
My Lords, on behalf of my noble friend Lord Hughes, I beg to move that this Bill be now read a second time. The purpose of the Bill is to consolidate, without amendment, financial provisions contained in the Housing (Scotland) Acts 1950 to 1965, the Housing (Financial Provisions, Etc.) (Scotland) Act 1967, and certain other enactments relating to housing in Scotland. This being a Consolidation Bill, if your Lordships give it a Second Reading it will go in the usual way to the Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills. I beg to move.
§ Moved, That the Bill be now read 2a.—(The Lord Chancellor.)
§ On Question, Bill read 2a, and referred to the Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills.
