HL Deb 11 May 1967 vol 282 c1588

Order of the Day for the Second Reading read.

THE JOINT PARLIAMENTARY UNDER-SECRETARY OF STATE FOR SCOTLAND (LORD HUGHES)

My Lords, I beg to move that this Bill be now read a second time. The Bill is purely a consolidation measure and applies only to Scotland, except in relation to cross-Border warrants and a number of consequential amendments and repeals. Basically, the Statutes to be consolidated are the Police (Scotland) Act 1956, Schedule 7 to the Police Act 1964, and the Police (Scotland) Act 1966. I beg to move that the Bill be now read a second time.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 2a. —(Lord Hughes.)

On Question, Bill read 2a, and referred to the Joint Committee on Consolidation Bills.
