HL Deb 03 May 1967 vol 282 cc982-3
LORD SHEPHERD

My Lords, following discussions between my noble friend the Leader of the House and the noble Lord the Leader of the Opposition, through the much-maligned usual channels, it might be for the convenience of the House if I were to inform your Lord-ships that, because of the need to arrange a debate on the Government's decision to seek to enter the Common Market, it is proposed to postpone from Monday, May 8, until Wednesday, May 10, the Second Reading of the Criminal Justice Bill and that the Second Readings of the Water (Scotland) Bill and the Remuneration of Teachers (Scotland) Bill be taken on Thursday, May 11, instead of Tuesday, May 9. The Motion of the noble Lord, Lord Balfour of Inchrye, which is down for Wednesday, May 10, will now be taken on Tuesday, May 9.

LORD CARRINGTON

My Lords, may I thank the noble Lord the Government Chief Whip for having so courteously taken notice of my suggestions and rearranged Business accordingly?
