§ LORD BESWICKMy Lords, I hope it may be for the convenience of the House if I make a short statement about the "spill-over" period in October, and about the Prorogation and State Opening of Parliament. As my predecessor has already announced, the House will reassemble on Monday, October 23, subject to the progress of Business. Prorogation will take place on Friday, October 27. The State Opening of Parliament by Her Majesty the Queen will take place on Tuesday, October 31.
