§ LORD BROWNMy Lords, in moving that the House doth agree with the Commons in Amendment No. 5, I would seek permission to speak also to Nos. 7 and 11. Clause 4 requires a company to give information about another company if it holds more than 10 per cent. of the other company's shares of any class. Amendment No. 5 changes the condition to any class of equity share. Amendment No. 7 states that the company must give information of non-equity holdings in the other company if it holds 10 per cent. or more of the equity share capital of the company. Amendment No. 11 adds a definition of equity capital, which appears in the original Act. I beg to move.
§ Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(Lord Brown.)
§ On Question, Motion agreed to.
