HL Deb 27 July 1967 vol 285 c1165

[No. 5]

Clause 4, page 4, line 2, leave out ("in") and insert ("comprised in the equity share capital of")

LORD BROWN

My Lords, in moving that the House doth agree with the Commons in Amendment No. 5, I would seek permission to speak also to Nos. 7 and 11. Clause 4 requires a company to give information about another company if it holds more than 10 per cent. of the other company's shares of any class. Amendment No. 5 changes the condition to any class of equity share. Amendment No. 7 states that the company must give information of non-equity holdings in the other company if it holds 10 per cent. or more of the equity share capital of the company. Amendment No. 11 adds a definition of equity capital, which appears in the original Act. I beg to move.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(Lord Brown.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
