HL Deb 25 October 1966 vol 277 cc200-1

2.45 p.m.

THE LORD PRIVY SEAL (THE EARL OF LONGFORD)

My Lords, I beg to move the Motion that stands in my name on the Order Paper. In the grievous circumstances caused by this appalling disaster, I am sure that the whole House will agree that it was right to put down this Motion without the usual notice, so that we may have an opportunity this afternoon of expressing our own feeling of unspeakable sadness at the events of last Friday at Aberfan.

Moved, That Standing Order No. 34 be considered in order to its being dispensed with for the purpose of giving precedence to the Motion standing in the name of the Lord Champion over the remaining Notices and Orders of the Day.—(The Earl of Longford.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
