HL Deb 18 October 1966 vol 277 c10

2.55 p.m.

LORD SHEPHERD

My Lords, may I make a short business statement? At a suitable moment after 3.30 p.m. my noble friend Lord Stonham will be making a Statement about the case of Timothy Evans. My noble friend Lord Rhodes will be making a Statement before the first item of business on the Order Paper in regard to the Government proposals on the Solus Petrol Orders of 1966. It may be for the convenience of the House if I inform your Lordships that I understand that the noble Lord, Lord Hurcomb, does not intend to proceed this afternoon with the Committee stage of the Protection of Bird, Bill.

THE EARL OF MANSFIELD

My Lords, would the noble Lord give any indication of when the Committee stage of the Protection of Birds Bill can be taken?

LORD SHEPHERD

My Lords, not at present. I have the belief that it may be some time next week.
