HL Deb 28 November 1966 vol 278 c473

2.36 p.m.

LORD STRABOLGI

My Lords, I beg leave to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government what progress has been made with the plan to build an Art Exhibition Centre on the South Bank and when completion may be expected.]

BARONESS PHILLIPS

My Lords, the South Bank Gallery is being built by the Greater London Council, who are meeting the capital cost. I am informed by the Council that the Gallery is expected to be completed by the early part of 1968.

LORD STRABOLGI

My Lords, I thank my noble friend for that reply.
