HL Deb 21 July 1966 vol 276 c548

3.28 p.m.

Read 3a, with the Amendments.

THE CHAIRMAN OF COMMITTEES (THE EARL OF LISTOWEL)

My Lords, I beg to move an Amendment: at page 18, line 3, leave out from "incorporated" to "this" in line 5, and insert "with".

Amendment moved— Page 18, line 3, leave out from ("incorporated") to ("this") in line 5 and insert ("with").—(The Earl of Listowel.)

LORD CARRINGTON

My Lords, could we have some sort of explanation?

THE EARL OF LISTOWEL

Most certainly, my Lords. This is a late Amendment put forward by the Promoters of the Bill, and copies of the Amendment lie on the Table of the House.

LORD CARRINGTON

What is it for?

THE EARL OF LISTOWEL

It is a verbal amendment of this clause, and for that reason I did not think your Lordships would expect me to advance any arguments in support.

On Question, Amendment agreed to.

Bill passed, and returned to the Commons.
