HL Deb 14 July 1966 vol 276 c207

Order of the Day for the Second Reading read.

LORD KENNET

My Lords, I beg to move that this Bill also be read a second time. It is to confirm a Provisional Order made under Section 303 of the Public Health Act 1875. Like the last Orders, it was advertised locally: one single objection was received, but this was later withdrawn. The Bill deals with the West Kent Main Sewerage District. The purpose of this Order is to bring part of the London Borough of Croydon within the Board's District and to make the Borough Council a constituent authority of the Board. Part of the borough already drains to the Board's sewers and a further part will be similarly drained later this year, on the completion of a main sewer extension. These arrangements are the result of agreement between the authorities concerned. The Order now puts them on a formal basis. I beg to move.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 2a.—(Lord Kennet.)

On Question, Bill read 2a, and committed to the Committee on Unopposed Bills.
