HL Deb 17 February 1966 vol 272 c1150
THE LORD CHANCELLOR

My Lords, I beg to move the Motion standing in my name on the Order Paper. As your Lordships know, the noble and learned Lord, Lord Morris of Borth-y-Gest, has for long been Chairman of the Joint Select Committee on Consolidation Bills. He is now retiring from that position and is being succeeded by the noble and learned Lord, Lord Upjohn. As your Lordships will appreciate, there is a considerable body of work attached to the chairmanship of this Committee, and in view of the long chairmanship of the noble and learned Lord, Lord Morris of Borth-y-Gest, and the work which he has done in that capacity, I feel that your Lordships would wish me to thank him, on behalf of the House, for his contribution in the field of law reform.

Moved, That the Lord Upjohn be appointed a member of the Joint Committee in the place of Lord Morris of Borth-y-Gest.—(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
