HL Deb 20 December 1966 vol 278 cc2064-5
LORD PARKER OF WADDINGTON

My Lords, at this late hour I hesitate to detain you for more than a moment. I beg leave to introduce a Bill to provide for the licensing of certain private places of entertainment, and I beg to move that this Bill be now read a first time. I think I should explain that this Bill is in substitution for the Registration and Control of Unlicensed Clubs Bill which I introduced earlier this Session. Accordingly, if the Motion for the First Reading of this Bill is agreed to, I will ask leave to withdraw the original Bill. I beg to move.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 1a.—(Lord Parker of Waddington.)

On Question, Bill read 1a, and to be printed.

LORD PARKER OF WADDINGTON

My Lords, I beg leave to withdraw the Registration and Control of Unlicensed Clubs Bill.

Bill, by leave, withdrawn.
