HL Deb 11 May 1965 vol 266 cc4-5

2.47 p.m.

LORD BROCKWAY

My Lords, I beg leave to ask the second Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether it is planned to participate in the project of an international Peace Research Institute as supported by the Government of Sweden.]

LORD CHALFONT

My Lords, I shall answer this Question as briefly as I can. I understand that the Swedish Government have appointed a committee to study the desirability and possibility of establishing in Sweden an international institute for peace research. I am of course following the development of this idea with interest, and hope to discuss it with the Swedish Government when I visit Stockholm later this month. If Her Majesty's Government should later be asked to help in any way, we would of course consider the request sympathetically.

LORD BROCKWAY

My Lords, may I thank the noble Lord for that reply?
