§ 2.47 p.m.
§ LORD BROCKWAYMy Lords, I beg leave to ask the second Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.
§ [The Question was as follows:
§ To ask Her Majesty's Government whether it is planned to participate in the project of an international Peace Research Institute as supported by the Government of Sweden.]
§ LORD CHALFONTMy Lords, I shall answer this Question as briefly as I can. I understand that the Swedish Government have appointed a committee to study the desirability and possibility of establishing in Sweden an international institute for peace research. I am of course following the development of this idea with interest, and hope to discuss it with the Swedish Government when 5 I visit Stockholm later this month. If Her Majesty's Government should later be asked to help in any way, we would of course consider the request sympathetically.
§ LORD BROCKWAYMy Lords, may I thank the noble Lord for that reply?
