§ 11.5 p.m.
THE LORD BISHOP OF LEICESTERMy Lords, I think that, for reasons of fatigue if for no other reason, your Lordships will wish to give a hasty passage to this very short Measure which, I can assure your Lordships, will make not the slightest difference to anything which any of your Lordships will observe in the Church of England, but will enable us in the Church to present for the Royal Assent certain Canons which have been passed by large and decisive majorities in various Assemblies of our Church. I beg to move.
§ Moved, That this House do direct that, in accordance with the Church of England Assembly (Powers) Act 1919, the Prayer Book (Miscellaneous Provisions) Measure be presented to Her Majesty for the Royal Assent.—(The Lord Bishop of Leicester.)
§ On Question, Motion agreed to, and ordered accordingly.
