HL Deb 23 February 1965 vol 263 c812

LORD CONESFORD asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether every London borough council in the central area has now appointed a borough architect; and, if not, which borough council has not yet done so.

LORD MITCHISON: The London Government Act requires each London borough council to appoint a borough architect as soon as reasonably practicable, and in any event not later than 1st April, 1968". I understand that the councils of the borough of Croydon, the borough of Greenwich, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, the Royal Borough of Kingston-upon-Thames and the borough of Richmond upon Thames have yet to appoint their borough architects.
