HL Deb 02 August 1965 vol 269 c6
LORD SHEPHERD

My Lords, at a suitable moment after 3.30 p.m. my noble friend the Leader of the House will be making a Statement on Commonwealth Immigration. May I also draw the attention of the House to an item of Business for this afternoon—namely, the Race Relations Bill? Your Lordships will see that it is down for all stages. In view of the fact that this Bill is now likely to be amended, it is felt right that we should take the Report stage and Third Reading on Thursday.

VISCOUNT DILHORNE

My Lords, would it be the last Business on Thursday after the Rent Bill?

LORD SHEPHERD

My Lords, I think we might have discussions through the usual channels to find which is the most convenient way to deal with this. There are other important and interesting items of Business for that day.
