HL Deb 14 April 1965 vol 265 c496

LORD HAWKE asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they can confirm the statement made by the Lord Chancellor, reported in column 873 of the OFFICIAL REPORT of March 29, 1965, that: "last year 10 per cent. of the entire building force of the whole country was engaged in London, building offices."

THE LORD CHANCELLOR

I regret that, owing to a misunderstanding, I gave the figure of 10 per cent. as the proportion of the entire building labour force in the whole country. This figure is the proportion of the building labour force in the London Region which was engaged in office building in 1964.

House adjourned at eighteen minutes before eight o'clock for the Easter Recess, until Tuesday, April 27.
