HL Deb 30 July 1964 vol 260 cc1205-6

2.42 p.m.

LORD SILKIN

My Lords, I beg leave to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they have received the Report of the Council on Tribunals on the award of costs of Statutory Inquiries; when this Report will be published and what action Her Majesty's Government propose to take upon it.]

THE LORD CHANCELLOR (LORD DILHORNE)

My Lords, the answer to the first part of the Question is, Yes: to the second part, that the Report has gone to the printers and will be published in due course I cannot now say when it will be published, but this will be some time during the Recess. As to the third part, the Government are considering the recommendations made in the Report and will in due course announce their decisions.

LORD SILKIN

My Lords, this appears to be the last Question that will be asked in the present Parliament, and I propose to make a record by asking no supplementaries.
