HL Deb 27 July 1964 vol 260 cc891-2

The Committee were asked to consider the extent to which tabular or other matter not given orally in the House should be published in the OFFICIAL REPORT. The Committee are of opinion that, so far as debate is concerned. the OFFICIAL REPORT should be maintained as the verbatim record of what takes place in the House; and they recommend that the publication of additional matter which is too lengthy or too complicated to be given orally in the House should be permitted only in the case of answers to Starred Questions and Ministerial Statements.

THE CHAIRMAN OF COMMITTEES: (LORD MERTHYR)

My Lords, I beg to move that this Report be now considered.

Moved, That the Report be now considered.—(Lord Merthyr.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
