§ Order of the Day read for the consideration of the First Report from the Select Committee.
§ The Committee's Report was as follows:
- 1. Introductions. The Committee have considered the ceremony of the introduction of newly created Peers and whether any modification ought to be made with a view to curtailing its length.
- The Committee do not recommend any change in the ceremony for the time being.
- The Committee have caused a memorandum on the ceremony to be placed in the Printed Paper Office and the Library.
- 2. Appellations. The Committee have considered methods of describing Peers in debate and recommend that the practice should be as set out in a memorandum which the Committee have caused to be placed in the Printed Paper Office.
