HL Deb 17 December 1964 vol 262 c538

3.19 p.m.

LORD CARRINGTON

My Lords, I should like to ask the Question of which I have given Private Notice: whether any Statement is to be made by Her Majesty's Government on the subject of the seven-hundredth anniversary of the Simon de Montfort Parliament.

THE LORD PRIVY SEAL (THE EARL OF LONGFORD)

Yes, my Lords. It is proposed that on Wednesday, January 20, the House should meet at 11.30 a.m. and that, after Prayers and a Statement by my noble and learned friend the Lord Chancellor, the Sitting should be adjourned during pleasure. I understand that similar arrangements have been made in another place. Your Lordships will then proceed to the Royal Gallery to await the arrival of Mr. Speaker and Members of another place. There will be more extensive celebrations later in the year.
