THE EARL OF GOSFORDMy Lords, I beg leave to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.
§ [The Question was as follows:
§ To ask Her Majesty's Government whether:
- (a) The United Nations Forces in Cyprus are receiving a United Nations allowance over and above their normal emoluments.
- (b) If this is correct, the British contingent are receiving the United Nations allowance.
- (c) If the British contingent are not receiving this allowance, Her Majesty's Government will make representations to the United Nations with a view to obtaining this allowance for the British Forces under United Nations Command.]
§ THE MARQUESS OF LANSDOWNEMy Lords, none of the United Nations forces in Cyprus is receiving an allowance from the United Nations.
