My Lords, I beg leave to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether:

  1. (a) The United Nations Forces in Cyprus are receiving a United Nations allowance over and above their normal emoluments.
  2. (b) If this is correct, the British contingent are receiving the United Nations allowance.
  3. (c) If the British contingent are not receiving this allowance, Her Majesty's Government will make representations to the United Nations with a view to obtaining this allowance for the British Forces under United Nations Command.]
