HL Deb 09 April 1964 vol 257 cc273-4

LORD BOSSOM asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether consideration is being given to the introduction in Great Britain of arrangements similar to the French Agrement System for testing and repotting on building materials and components; if not, whether they will consider doing so.

THE JOINT PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY, MINISTRY OF HOUS ING AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT (LORD HASTINGS)

My right honourable friend, the Minister of Public Building and Works, has set up a Committee on Agrement under the Chairmanship of Sir Donald Gibson. They are now examining this system and considering whether there is a need in this country for more formal testing arrangements than already exist. The Committee have announced that they will welcome the views of interested persons and organisations on this matter. Evidence should be sent in writing to the Secretary, Committee on Agrement, Room 332, Ministry of Public Building and Works, Lambeth Bridge House, London, S.E.1.

House adjourned at twelve minutes before five o'clock.
