Order of the Day read for the consideration of the First Report from the Select Committee.

The Committee reported as follows: The Committee considered the question whether Peers and Peeresses of the peerage of Scotland should be introduced, on taking their seats in the House pursuant to Section 4 of the Peerage Act 1963. The Committee are of opinion, That, the holder of a peerage in the peerage of Scotland, who by virtue of section four of the Peerage Act 1963 receives a writ of summons to attend the House of Lords, shall upon laying his or her writ upon the Table of the House be entitled without further formality to take the Oath, subscribe the Roll, and sit and vote and enjoy the same rights and privileges as other members of the House.
