HL Deb 29 May 1963 vol 250 c852
LORD AMULREE

My Lords, I beg leave to ask the second Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government when the blocks of stone lying behind the Powder Magazine in Hyde Park will be removed and the building of which they formed a part re-erected.]

EARL JELLICOE

My Lords, it is hoped to tidy up the whole area by the end of the summer. The objects which are at present stored there had to be removed when work on the Park Lane improvement scheme started, the bulk of the material having formed part of the dismantled Cumberland Screen which used to stand at the Marble Arch end of Hyde Park. Their future has still to be decided.

LORD AMULREE

My Lords, I should like to thank the noble Earl for his reply.
