§ BARONESS BURTON OF COVENTRYMy Lords, I beg leave to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.
§ [The Question was as follows:
§ To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they are now in a position to announce the name of the Chairman of the Consumer Council together with the terms of reference of the Council and, if not, the date they expect to do so; and, in addition, if the announcement will be made simultaneously in both Houses of Parliament.]
§ THE MINISTER OF STATE, BOARD OF TRADE (LORD DERWENT)My Lords, my right honourable friend hopes to be in a position to make an announcement about the chairmanship of the Consumer Council and its terms of reference within a week or so. It is hoped that we shall be able to give this information simultaneously to both Houses of Parliament.
