HL Deb 03 July 1963 vol 251 cc989-90

8.4 p.m.

House in Committee (according to Order).

House resumed: Bill reported without amendment.

On Question, Whether the Report shall be now received?

LORD SHACKLETON

My Lords, I have just a small point to raise. In the absence of my noble friends, the usual channels on my side of the House, I had thought it was agreed that we should not only take the Contracts of Employment Bill until 8 o'clock but also proceed with the other measures. I just wanted to make sure, because I had understood that it was decided we should go on with the Contracts of Employment Bill, instead of with the other measures.

THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS (THE EARL OF DUNDEE)

My Lords, I understand that what was arranged was that your Lordships wished to bring our proceedings to an end as soon as possible after 8 o'clock. There is one other matter which my noble friend Lord Gage intends to raise, but meanwhile I think it is in accordance with what has been agreed that I should now ask your Lordships to receive this Report.

Report received.
