§ THE LORD CHANCELLOR (LORD DILHORNE)My Lords, I have to inform your Lordships that Her late Majesty Queen Victoria was pleased to terminate, by Letters Patent dated June 1, 1896, the abeyance of the Barony of Beaumont in favour of Mona Josephine Tempest Stapleton, the elder daughter of Miles Lord Beaumont who died on September 16, 1895 without male issue. Now, in pursuance of Section 6 of the Peerage Act, 1963, a Writ of Summons has been issued in right of the Barony of Beaumont and the noble Lady attends at the Bar to take her seat.
After which, Baroness Beaumont took the Oath.
