HL Deb 31 July 1962 vol 243 c158

Clause 37, page 30, line 42, leave out ("wire or cable") and insert ("apparatus")

Clause 37, page 30, line 44, at end, insert ("or the proper functioning of such apparatus")

LORD CHESHAM

My Lords, these go together and are small Amendments to ensure that Clause 37, which is intended to secure that any electrical apparatus in connection with a pipeline does not interfere with Post Office lines or electric lines for controlling railway apparatus, includes railway "track circuits", which are used for signalling; and where the current runs up the line itself. They do not appear to be covered at present but now they will be. I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendments.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendments.—(Lord Chesham.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
