HL Deb 31 July 1962 vol 243 c222

Leave out Clause 29, and insert the following new clause:

Replacement of certain provisions relating to offences in Scotland

("As respects offences committed after the commencement of this Act, for sections two hundred and forty and two hundred and forty-six of the principal Act there shall be substituted the sections set out in the Schedule (Offences in Scotland) to this Act.").

LORD CHESHAM

My Lords, Amendment No. 28 goes with Nos. 38, 60 and 61. It was suggested in another place that it would assist if the effect of the amendment which Clause 29 makes were written out at length, and this my right honourable friend the Lord Advocate said he would consider doing, and he did so. This Amendment is the result. Apart from presentation, there is no difference between this and the present clause which is being replaced. I beg to move.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(Lord Chesham.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
