HL Deb 31 July 1962 vol 243 cc162-3

After Clause 46 insert the following new Clause—

Provisions as to requirements and prohibitions imposed under this Act

("Any power, exercisable by notice, conferred by this Act on the Minister to impose a requirement or prohibition shall be construed as including a power, exercisable in the like manner, to vary or revoke the requirement or prohibition.")

LORD CHESHAM

My Lords, the purpose of this new clause is to make it clear, as the Opposition wanted it made clear, that where the Minister has powers under the Bill to impose requirements or prohibitions these powers shall be construed as giving him powers to vary or revoke any requirement or prohibition which he has already made. I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(Lord Chesham.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
