§ THE PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY, MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT (LORD CHESHAM)My Lords, this Bill is to confirm an Order made by the Minister of Transport under Section 17 of the Maidstone Corporation Act. It proposes to authorise the Corporation to use trolley vehicles on a further 6 furlongs, 8.9 chains, wholly within the borough. It is an extension to the route approved by Parliament in 1958 and is to serve a new housing estate. There were no objections to the Order, and there is no other special point at all to which I need draw your Lordships' attention. I beg to move that this Bill be read a second time.
