HL Deb 14 November 1961 vol 235 c571

2.35 p.m.

LORD FRASER OF LONSDALE

My Lords, I beg leave to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they now have any statement to make as to the introduction of a decimal coinage system for the United Kingdom.]

THE MINISTER WITHOUT PORTFOLIO (LORD MILLS)

My Lords, I am not yet in a position to make a statement on this important subject, but I hope to do so before the end of the year.

LORD FRASER OF LONSDALE

If I put down a Question in a fortnight's time, will that be appropriate?

LORD MILLS

My Lords, the noble Lord may have to put it down a fortnight after that, and a fortnight after that.
