HL Deb 01 August 1961 vol 234 cc84-5

Clause 29, page 21, line 41, leave out from ("unless") to ("and") in line 43 and insert ("a notice specifying the building and the works of demolition intended to be carried out has been given to the local authority;")

LORD BRECON

My Lords, I beg to move that this House cloth agree with the Commons in Amendment No. 5. Subsection (3) provides that: no person shall undertake a demolition … unless he has … given … notice". In some circumstances this might be regarded as applying to more than one person, such as the contractor as well as the owner, and it might be thought that they should both be given notice. This Amendment makes it clear that only one notice of intention to demolish a building is required.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(Lord Brecon.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
