HL Deb 28 July 1960 vol 225 c895
EARL DE LA WARR

My Lords, I beg leave to ask the Question which stands in my name on the Order Paper.

[The Question was as follows:

To ask Her Majesty's Government what steps are being taken to ensure the future of members of the Overseas Administrative and Police services in the interests not only of the officers themselves but of the continuance of sound administration and security in the dependent and new self-governing territories.]

THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR COLONIAL AFFAIRS (THE EARL OF PERTH)

My Lords, I trust that the noble Earl will be kind enough to wait for the statement on the subject matter of this Question—that is, about Her Majesty's Oversea Civil Service—which I shall be making a little later this afternoon, some time after half-past three o'clock.
