4.27 p.m.

Order of the Day for the House to be put into Committee read.

Moved, That the House do now resolve itself into Committee.—(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.

House in Committee accordingly.

[The LORD AILWYN in the Chair.]

Clauses 1 to 3 agreed to.

First Schedule [Road and Rail Transport Enactments]:

THE LORD CHANCELLOR

I beg to move the Amendment standing in my name. In the course of the preparation of this Bill, whose laudable object is to get rid of dead wood from the Statute Book, a wrong number was attributed to a section—Section 4 was mentioned instead of Section 5. I am now here to put that right, and I hope the Committee will help me.

Amendment moved— Page 4, line 49, leave out ("four") and insert ("five").—(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Amendment agreed to.

House resumed.
